Abstract
In the case of SUNY Purchase College, there are a number of arts management (AMG) students interested in the commercial arts sector, chiefly music business. Nevertheless, there is an absence of instruction relating to those areas, resulting in an underserved segment of students within the major. At Manhattanville College, I majored in music business during my underclassman years. Upon transferring to Purchase College, I found there to be an evident dearth of instruction concerning my respective field; although, the AMG program proclaims to provide education relating to the music industry career paths (Purchase College, "Arts Management: About the Program"). During my investigation, AMG students have expressed dissatisfaction with their learning experience, due to limited selection of industry-specific classes and the lack of undergraduate-level arts entrepreneurship education; along with, the nonexistence of interdisciplinary collaboration, and the need for faculty to support niche interests.
