This paper emphasizes the power that music has on a listener. Serving more than just entertainment purposes, music has also been proven to have a healing and therapeutic effect on listeners, as detailed in the paper. This paper chronicles the journey of music therapy, its usage, formation, and effects. This paper also specifically looks into six musical genres and the surprising effect they have been proven to have had on listeners.
