Abstract
This paper discusses the history of the Anthropocene while suggesting that adopting new philosophies, such as Object-Oriented Ontology, are necessary in order to adapt to the problems that humanity will face in the future. Ever since the addition of coal as an energy resource, humankind developed ideals that separated humans from nature. Such ideals make it impossible to discover or see truth and so it is also impossible for human beings to act correctly towards reality. Object Oriented Ontology is a philosophy that would change the way we perceive the world around us and allow us to discover truth. My exhibit, "Natural Objects," attributed human emotion to moving sculptures and videos based on this research with the goal to remind viewers of the importance of their relationship with objects around them and suggest that non-human objects are not what they appear to be. In other words, that they may have an internal experience all their own.
