Abstract
"Saudade" is a photographic rediscovery of self through the act of remembering. I have been documenting my life through photography since an early age. On the wall are collected images of my life from the end of 2018 to the beginning of 2019. These images individually represent episodic memories. Collectively, they speak of my autonoetic consciousness (Fivush, 2011) bringing up themes of ascension, subsumption, attachment, paroxysm, and acceptance which have influenced my identity. Saudade collects all these disparate moments filled with information, color and light acting as photographs in the mind. The photographs on the wall are these disparate moments in my life that embody aspects of who I am and how I am.
