Abstract
Introduces students to the present meaning and historical roots of race, gender, and class in the Unites States. Students will be exposed to concepts such as ethnicity, culture, race, socialization, assimilation, acculturation, migration, immigration, gender, and socioeconomic status. This course is taught from a multi-disciplinary approach that allows students to exercise critical thinking skills by understanding historical, cultural, political, economic, philosophical, psychological, and sociological perspectives.
