Abstract
Within this body of work entitled how small pieces become, I ask my audience to experience with me objects of adornment that are subtle and meaningful by means of traditional making processes. how small pieces become is an investigation and exploration into the realm of object adornment. The work raises questions about preciousness, beauty, and the relationship between viewer and adornment. It inspires a conversation regarding perception and intimate personal experience. Through the works formal characteristics and attention to detail, the objects invite the viewer to gaze into a fictive mirror to experience a moment of personal reflection that is redefined when the object is worn.
