Abstract
This is an introductory course to the field of professional education, examining it from historical, sociological, cultural, psychological and philosophical perspectives. Topics include financing, administration and control of US education, multicultural education, professional preparation, current issues and trends, curriculum models, legal and moral responsibilities of teachers and societal challenges for educators. Classroom observations and a professional interview are required. 3 credit hours and field requirements=10 hours
