Abstract
The 21st century society requires children to attend school, but not work 14 hour days in factories. Less than two centuries ago, it was considered normal for children to put in long days in terrible conditions in textile factories. This senior project is a movie script about the person who made all that change. That was a Member of the British Parliament who lobbied to pass a bill to protect children and change the workplace for the better. This drama charts the working of the Factory Bill Committee, which investigated the situation through testimony of all the workers and owners, including the words of children themselves. The shocked MPS, along with the public, supported the legislation which changed the workplace and worker's rights not just in United Kingdom, but for much of the world.
