Abstract
A coming of age story. Malik is a first-generation kid who is the shining American dream of his father Juan, a proud bodega owner who has high expectations for his son making sure that he becomes a man. He meets two best friends Nina and Jamel after he kisses both of them at a party, a series of events make him question his masculinity and the concept altogether.
