Abstract
This paper explores the elements of the campus event of Afrodisiac, the mechanisms through which it is produced, and the impact of the event on the Purchase community, with a focus on those making art. The paper also examines its particular significance for Black students and how Afrodisiac cultivates belonging and fosters connection. Through qualitative interviews and critical reflection, I was able to conclude the importance of said event for the minority community on campus.
