Abstract
The Qualitative Study Conducted in 2020 exams the impact of Trump’s immigrants and refugee policies on the Syrian refugees. More specifically the policy regarding limiting the number of refugees admitted to the US and the ban on seven countries with majority Muslim people. The research explores Syrian immigrants and refugees’ experiences under the new policies and its impact on their everyday life. This population has not been deeply studied in previous researches. Contextualizing the impact of Trump’s new immigration policies on Syrians living in U.S. I focused my in-depth interviews on five refugees and immigrants living in various neighborhood in New York and Connecticut, their personal experience, and the obstacle they face due to the new laws. The findings of this study demonstrate that Trump’s immigration and refugee policies are not supported by literature or life experience. Syrian who come to the United States are mostly refugees who are looking for safety and security. Although they may face many obstacles at first but overall, they achieve a great improvement and help in supporting the US economy. The research explains a positive outcome in the economy when the US accepts more refugees and immigrants.
